The MSU Center for Statistical Training and Consulting (CSTAT) is a professional service and research unit at Michigan State University. We provide statistical support and services to faculty, staff, and graduate students, plus occasional off-campus clients.

Mission Statement

CSTAT helps MSU faculty, staff, and graduate student researchers apply quantitative reasoning and statistical methods in their research. As part of MSU’s infrastructure for facilitating excellence in research, we aim to increase the rigor, reproducibility, quality, and quantity of research produced by MSU. We do that by providing statistical training and consulting services that build our clients’ capacity, assisting with proposal development for grants and sponsored projects, and partnering with researchers and other clients or stakeholders on projects.

Our Center is a unit within the Office of Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies (VPRGS) and reports to the Vice President.
