Conversations with qualitative and quantitative researchers
There are many types of data collections. Some are collected via surveys, interviews, or focus groups. Are there missed opportunities where qualitative research methods can enrich quantitative studies, or quantitative research methods can enrich the rigor of qualitative studies?
Drs Marilyn Amey, Department of Educational Administration, MSU, Holly Arrow, Department of Psychology, University of Oregon, and Marianne Huebner, CSTAT, MSU will discuss expectations that quantitatively/qualitatively trained researchers (e.g. reviewers) might have and what integrative methods might look like.
For illustration, examples may be drawn from exploratory data analysis, frameworks in qualitative research, missing data, or comments seminar participants might have.
