Understanding the role of the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) for data analysis
Dr. Alea Fairchild, Department of Marketing, KU Leuven, Belgium
Data protection is no longer just a question of compliance or security in the clinical sector. It has become a strategic issue at the management level of data and project design. The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) exist to represent and protect Article 8 of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. My talk will be a basic overview of the scope of application of GDPR and an understanding on the obligations GDPR imposes on processors and/or controllers.
