Mediation and Moderation
This workshop focuses on two statistical techniques in causal analysis: mediation and moderation. Mediation refers to the scenario that a third variable M exerting influence between independent variable X, and outcome variable Y, whereby X causes M, and M causes Y.
Moderation refers to the scenario where the third variable M may also modify the effect of X on Y such that the effect differs at different values of M. The definitions of mediation and moderation are relatively simple. However, the related statistical issues are complex. This workshop will cover the underlying principles and statistical methods.
CSTAT workshops are free to the MSU community. If you are unable to attend after registration, please give at least a 48 hour notice or you will incur a $50 cancellation fee.
