Institutional Review Board

All studies with human participants or using animals require approval by the MSU Internal Review Board(s). 

• Human Research Protection Program (HRPP)
• Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee (IACUC)
• Fill out an IRB application using the Click compliance system. (You can save your IRB application and come back to it later. )

All personnel listed on the protocol, co-investigators, study coordinators, etc, will need to complete ethics training. 

Study personnel will need to complete a Significant Financial Disclosure for all research protocols (with the exception of minimal risk protocols). 

It is uncommon to have de-identifiable data for human research. 

Your research study may fall under an "exempt category" or "expedited category." You still need to fill out an IRB application.
