R skills for data science: Online CSTAT Certificate course

CSTAT Certificate Course

Objectives: Participants will be able to use R for beginning and intermediate tasks for data management and statistical analyses. Participants will be able to write a data analysis report using R markdown.

Format: This is an online course delivered via Zoom with an instructor and a chat moderator answering questions. Recordings of the modules will be made available via MSU MediaSpace. Questions and Discussions are open on Piazza.

Modules 

1. Introduction to R and R markdown
2. Data wrangling 
3. Data visualization
4. Statistical modeling
5. Initial data analysis

Exercises for each module will be assigned to practice the skills learned during the class times.  These exercises will build up to a capstone project, namely writing a data analysis report in R markdown.
