R for Researchers: A Hands‑On Introduction
Dr. Sichao Wang, CSTAT
This three-hour workshop is designed to provide new users with a clear path from their first lines of code to practical research applications. We will guide you through the Initial Data Analysis Framework, ensuring you develop a reproducible workflow from day one. Through guided, hands-on practice, we cover the entire process from the first time you open RStudio to producing your first set of visualizations. By the end of the session, you will have the "best-practice" toolkit needed to minimize common frustrations and kick off your own data projects with confidence. The session will cover:
- Navigating R and RStudio
- Understanding R data types and structures
- Data manipulation essentials
- Simple data visualization
Prerequisites: No prior knowledge of R or programming experience is required. Bring a laptop with R and Rstudio installed.
This Workshop will have a non-refundable $10 registration fee to reserve your spot, paid through Eventbrite at registration.
