CSTAT Office Hours Fall 2025
CSTAT is happy to introduce a new way to work with us -- free drop-in office hours!
Location: Giltner Hall 101
Drop-in consultations are on a first-come first-served basis and no appointment is necessary.
MSU faculty, research staff, and graduate students can stop by to get their research questions answered in-person by an experienced statistical consultant on aspects of study design, data collection, and statistical analysis and reporting.
In addition to in-person walk-in service, during these hours we also maintain an open Zoom session at https://msu.zoom.us/s/93344976136. Note that you will need to be authenticated via your MSU credentials to join this Zoom meeting, and if there's already someone with the consultant either in-person or on Zoom you'll be directed to the Zoom waiting room. But this is yet another way to connect with a CSTAT consultant!
To best serve the greatest number of people, there's a strictly-enforced 30-minute limit on each consult whether in-person or via Zoom. You will be asked to provide your name, NetID, and your MSU college/department. You'll also be asked to provide the name/NetID of your advisor if you're a graduate student.
If you think that 30 minutes might not be enough and/or that you might need multiple consults, then these walk-in hours aren't best for your situation. Instead go to https://cstat.msu.edu, fill out a short intake form, and we'll match you with a consultant to discuss your project.
Our drop-in office hours in Giltner 101 start on Tuesday September 2 (excluding holidays):
Monday: 10:00am - 12:00 noon
Tuesday: not open
Wednesday: 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Thursday: 3:00pm - 5:00pm
Friday: 8:00am - 10:00am
These hours are subject to change, but the current hours will always be shown here on the CSTAT website.
If you have any questions about this or any of CSTAT's other services, please email us at cstatinf@msu.edu.
We are excited about this new service and we look forward to working with you!
