CSTAT helps with new statistical model for scaling weightlifting performance

The resulting Q points were developed with:

• Data from the Olympics, World and Continental Championships, for the years 2017 through 2021.
• Quantile regression models for the 0.5, 0.75, and 0.9 quantiles.
• Systematic evaluation of fractional polynomials for body weight in the quantile regression models. Goodness-of-fit selection.
• Penalized splines to compare scaled performances of medalists across body weight.
