Dr. Yunesi's research focus has been on model development and statistical analysis for cancer research. In his research at MSU, he has developed models, algorithms, and computational tools for use on cancer transcriptomics data. He has gained hands-on experience with cancer data during his research traineeship at MD Anderson Cancer Center. He also has worked at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as an ORISE fellow, developing Bayesian models to quantify uncertainty in evaluation of generic drugs. He has extensive experience using high performance computing resources, especially HPCC at MSU, and cloud computing resources (Microsoft Azure and AWS).
Dr. Yunesi received his PhD from the department of Statistics and Probability with a dual PhD from Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering (CMSE) at MSU. Prior to his education at MSU, he received a PhD from the department of Physics and Astronomy at Florida State University.
