"Models for Sustainable and Inclusive Data Science Consulting and Collaboration in Higher Education" is funded by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. CSTAT Director Marianne Huebner participants together with leaders from 25 universities.

Dr. Frank Lawrence joined MSU and CSTAT in September 2012. He supports researchers in the College of Education and collaborates across different disciplines including epidemiology, psychology, media, communication disorder. He contributes his extensive knowledge in structural equation models, complex surveys and randomized trials to research studies.

New and returning graduate students found out about CSTAT activities and had a chance to interact with CSTAT Directors.

Dr. Marianne Huebner leads an international research project to study menopause, osteoarthritis, protein intake in women weightlifters, ages 30 and up. This is supported by the International Weightlifting Federation Master Committee, USA Weightlifting, Canada Masters Weightlfiting Federation, and many other national organizations.

Open Science is the transparent and accessible knowledge that is shared and developed through collaborative networks. Open Science practices encompass open source, open access, open data, open code, open peer review, pre-registration.Learning how to prepare open data, to document open material, to pre-register studies, to follow reporting guidelines can be time consuming, but it is necessary to develop such Open Science skills for high impact research.

Attention graduate students: The Center for Statistical Training and Consulting will be interviewing applicants for Summer 2022 and Fall 2022 Research Assistant (RA) positions, with possible continuation into future semesters depending on performance, staffing needs, and available funding.

CSTAT researchers conducted an international survey across3 continents in June 2021 to ask about motivation, barriers, and coping of older athletes during the COVID Pandemic.

The STRATOS Initiative (Strengthening Analytical Thinking for Observational Studies, https://stratos-initiative.org/) is an international collaboration of over 100 experts in many different areas of biostatistical and biomedical research.

CSTAT provides both statistical support and statistical training service. CSTAT statisticians are engaged in all phases of research projects including planning, data management, analysis, and reporting. You are being invited to participate in a web-based online survey about CSTAT. The objective is to gain a better understanding of your quantitative needs for your research projects, such as working with a statistician, data manager, graduate student, or obtain further training that CSTAT could provide.
