Regression without regrets- The importance of initial data analysis
A systematic process for Initial Data Analysis and clear reporting of the findings are essential to understand data properties or potential shortcomings of a dataset. This may have consequences for the planned statistical analysis and for the interpretation and presentation of the research results.

Data quality will be defined and an overview of selected data quality frameworks in medicine will be used to show the complexity of comprehensive data quality assessments. Tools for efficient data quality assessments to promote harmonized data quality reporting will be discussed.

Online CSTAT course: R skills for data science -Fall session
The next session of the CSTAT Certificate course starts on September 17 with online instruction via Zoom. Screen recordings are made available for each module.
Objectives: Participants will be able to use R for beginning and intermediate tasks for data management and statistical analyses. Participants will be able to write a data analysis report using R markdown.

Barry brings a wealth of experience in statistical consulting, information management, and project management to CSTAT and MSU.
Barry will be able to help researchers with database design and data management for grant proposals and funded grants. He will teach CSTAT workshops related to statistics and data management and work on
CSTAT RA Bronson Hui receives Graduate Award for outstanding achievement from the College of Arts and Letters
Bronson Hui enrolled in the Ph.D. in Second Language Studies program at MSU in 2017 after seven years of teaching English in Hong Kong and with a B.A. and B.Ed. from Hong Kong University and an M.Sc. from Oxford. He already has six research articles published or in press and numerous others under review. Congratulations!
